Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, May 21. This came after all-rounder Cameron Green smashed his maiden IPL century as the five-time champions chased the target down with two overs to spare.
Chasing 201, Green hit an unbeaten 100 off 47 balls at a stunning strike rate of 212.77, including eight sixes and as many boundaries. Mumbai's captain Rohit Sharma also contributed 56 off 37 balls as the duo shared a 128-run partnership for the second wicket.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan chipped in with 25*(16) and Ishan Kishan 14 (12, respectively.
For SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mayank Dagar bagged one wicket apiece.
Earlier in the day, SRH posted 200/5 after being asked to bat. Mayank Agarwal smashed 83 off 46, while Vivrant Sharma shone with 69 (47).
Akash Madhval starred with the ball for Mumbai, returning with figures of 4/37, while Chris Jordan took a solitary wicket.
With the win, MI also kept themselves alive in the race to IPL 2023 playoffs. They are currently placed fourth with 16 points in 14 games, but are dependent on rain and RCB’s loss if they want to reach the knockout matches.

RCB vs GT to decide MI’s fate for IPL 2023 playoffs
The action will now shift to IPL’s last group-stage game between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
If RCB lose, MI will directly enter the playoffs based on their 16 points. Otherwise, Bangalore will finish fourth in the IPL 2023 points table.
