Pakistan announce itinerary for packed 2024-25 home season; Set to host Bangladesh, England and West Indies in Tests
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for a busy 2024-25 season, including the Champions Trophy. The side will host Bangladesh, England, and the West Indies in a combined seven Tests, marking their busiest home season since the turn of the century.
Pakistan are coming off a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign in the West Indies and the USA and will look for resurrection in the upcoming season. They will start with a two-Test series against Asian rivals Bangladesh, starting August 21. While the first Test will be played in Rawalpindi, the series finale will happen in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
Following that, Pakistan will host England in a marquee three-Test series from October 7 to 28 with Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi as the venues. Tours of Australia and Zimbabwe follow where Pakistan will play three ODIs and as many T20Is in both nations from November 4 to December 5.
The Asian giants will then embark on an all-format tour of South Africa from December 10 to January 7 next year.
After the brief away stint, Pakistan will return home to take on the West Indies in a two-Test series from January 16 to 28. Following these series of home Tests, New Zealand and South Africa will travel to Pakistan for an ODI tri-series between February 8 and 14 next year.
Finally, the 2025 Champion Trophy has been tentatively scheduled in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.
Pakistan will hope to capitalize on the number of home Tests to climb from their current fifth spot on the World Test Championship (WTC) table and finish in the top two for finals qualification.
