Pakistan batter says Wasim Akram better than Jasprit Bumrah; Rashid Latif better than Rishabh Pant

Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad recently participated in a 'This and That' game, where he had to pick one of the two names given to him based on their skills. During the fast bowlers' round, Shehzad rated former star Wasim Akram as a better pacer than Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Starc.

On Nadir Ali's podcast, Shehzad was asked to pick the better pacer, with two names given to him. The host started with Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. Shehzad picked Akram. The host then gave him options of Shane Bond, Jasprit Bumrah, Shaun Tait, Mitchell Starc, and Rana Naved, but Shehzad picked Akram above all of them.

"It was a very easy segment. Wasim Akram is better than all the names you gave," Shehzad replied. [48.36 onwards]

When asked about his thoughts on Jasprit Bumrah, Shehzad replied:

"Bumrah is a top bowler in the current era. He is a world-class bowler. He has helped his country win big matches."

Next, the host asked him to choose the better wicketkeeper, and he started with Rashid Latif and Brendon McCullum. Shehzad went with Latif and picked him over Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Rizwan, Saleem Yousuf, Rishabh Pant, and Kamran Akmal.

"Rashid Latif is better than Rishabh Pant as a keeper, yes," the Pakistan batter replied.

In the same round, Shehzad selected Kumar Sangakkara over Rashid Latif and Adam Gilchrist over Sangakkara. Eventually, it came down to Gilchrist and MS Dhoni. Shehzad answered:

"MS Dhoni has his own style. He became a master of that style. He not only became a master but made his style famous. I think I'll go with MS Dhoni."

Shehzad has played against Dhoni and Sangakkara at the international level.
