Pallekele weather forecast today: What are the chances of rain during today’s IND vs SL 3rd T20I?

After a brief spell of rain in the second T20I, the weather forecast continues to remain poor for the third or last T20I between India and Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, July 30. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the toss has been delayed due to a wet outfield. They wrote on X:

"Update from Pallekele. The toss in the 3rd T20I has been delayed due to wet outfield."

As per BBC, light rain is possible during the game. Thus, there is a huge possibility of a complete game. The temperature in Pallekele will hover around 23 degrees Celsius with seven to 10 percent chances of rain. However, the real feel temperature would be 29 to 30 degrees. Usually, the monsoon season in Sri Lanka lasts from May to June.

Notably, the second T20I was delayed due to rain. The match started at 7.45 pm IST and the chase was reduced to eight overs due to a recurrence of the rain during the opening over of India innings. The hosts, though, luckily played the full 20 overs during the first innings.

Suryakumar Yadav wants India to stick with attacking brand of cricket after an unassailable 2-0 lead against Sri Lanka in Pallekele

India's newly-appointed captain Suryakumar Yadav was delighted with the Men in Blue following their series win against Sri Lanka. The series win also marked the beginning of a new era under Suryakumar and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Yadav said after the second ODI (via Cricbuzz):

"We spoke about this before this tournament - what brand of cricket we want to play. Even if it's a shorter target or whatever target we are chasing, this is the template, which we would like to go ahead with. The games which we have seen here before have always been tricky. Rain helped us. The way the boys batted, it was wonderful.
"We'll sit and decide what we want to do going forward (when asked if they'll test their bench strength). Very happy for the boys the way they showed their skill and talent and lot of character in tough situations."

With series already in the bag, the visitors would be keen to test their bench strength.
