PCB grants NOC to Mohammad Amir, Asif Ali to participate in Lanka T10 Super League

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given the green signal to four cricketers, including pacer Mohammad Amir to play in the Lanka T10 Super League later this year. The competition will start on December 11, 2024, and conclude on December 19, 2024 in Pallekele.

Along with Mohammad Amir, PCB has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to Umar Akmal, Imran Khan Sr, and Asif Ali as well. This will be the first edition of Sri Lanka's T10 franchise-based tournament. As per Geo Super, Faheem Ashraf has also received the NOC to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) from December 30 onwards.

It is pertinent to note that the Pakistan national team is currently preparing for a tour of South Africa. The tour will start on December 10 with a T20I series, followed by a three-match ODI series and a two-match Test series. None of the aforementioned five cricketers are a part of Pakistan's squads.

As for the Lanka T10 Super League, the tournament will feature six teams: Colombo Jaguars, Galle Marvels, Jaffna Titans, Nuwara Eliya Kings, Hambantota Bangla Tigers, and Kandy Bolts. 25 matches are scheduled to take place in the competition this year.

Which team will Mohammad Amir play for in the Lanka T10 Super League 2024?

Mohammad Amir has signed with the Jaffna Titans team for the 2024 season of the Lanka T10 Super League. The left-arm pace bowler played for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in June 2024. After that, he had stints with overseas franchises Antigua and Barbuda Falcons (CPL) and New York Strikers (Abu Dhabi T10).

The Pakistani star is all set to play in the first T10 league in Sri Lanka now. While Amir will play for the Titans, his compatriot Asif Ali will turn up for the Colombo Jaguars.

Former Indian batter Saurabh Tiwary will also participate in the Lanka T10 Super League. The southpaw will represent the Nuwara Eliya Kings alongside T20 stars like Benny Howell, Oshane Thomas, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Aftab Alam.
