"Pichli baar kya bola tha? too slow"- Top 10 funny memes after India's batting collapse in 2nd Test vs Australia in BGT 2024-25

Team India batters faced the wrath of fans after they failed to get going in the first innings of the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 Test against Australia in Adelaide. They were bundled out for 180 runs in 44.1 overs.

The visiting captain, Rohit Sharma, won the toss and opted to bat first in overcast conditions. Mitchell Starc provided an ideal start to Australia by dismissing the previous match's centurion, Yashasvi Jaiswal, on the very first ball of the game and stunned the opponents. KL Rahul (37) and Shubman Gill (31) then played sensibly and put on a 69-run partnership for the second wicket to steady the ship after a rocky start.

Just as things started to look good for India, Starc returned to break the threatening partnership by sending Rahul back to the pavilion in the 19th over. It triggered a massive downfall as the visiting side collapsed from 69/1 to 87/5 in a couple of overs. Nitish Reddy (42) once again added some crucial runs in the lower order with the help of Rishabh Pant (21) and Ravichandran Ashwin (22) to take his team to 180.

Mitchell Starc scalped six wickets, while Pat Cummins and Scott Boland picked up two wickets apiece for Australia in the bowling department.

Fans were disappointed with Indian top and middle-order batters for their subpar performance in the first innings of the second Test against Australia. They expressed their reactions by sharing hilarious memes on X.

"Feel like the ball has been coming out well"- Australia pacer Mitchell Starc after his 6-wicket haul in 1st innings of 2nd Test vs India in BGT 2024-25

Speaking after the conclusion of the first innings, Australian pacer Mitchell Starc expressed satisfaction with his bowling performance. The New South Wales cricketer returned with 6/48, the best figures in day-night Tests at Adelaide.

Speaking about the defeat in the first Test in Perth, Starc admitted that the hosts did not play poor cricket in the first Test in Perth, but India were better than them.

As quoted by Cricbuzz, Starc said:

"Feel like the ball has been coming out well, we did not play that bad last game, they played better than us in Perth. Nothing really changes game by game, was a nice start. (On the weather conditions) Certainly did not help the engine, got a bit cramped at the end."

He added:

"The pink ball goes through weird patches, won't do much and then does go, on day 1 you expect with a little bit of grass to do a bit, maybe with the forecast we have it dries out a bit later on but apart from the first hour when we were a bit wide we were good."
