Former India openers Shikhar Dhawan and Virender Sehwag recently got candid with each other at a Diwali party ahead of the auspicious festival. The duo twinned in ethnic black outfits while posing for the picture.

Take a look:
The two players emerged as one of the most successful openers for Team India. Virender Sehwag amassed 17,253 runs in 374 matches across formats, with the help of 38 tons and 72 half-centuries. He holds the record of two triple centuries in Tests. The 46-year-old was part of India’s World Cup-winning team in 2007 (T20I) and 2011 (ODI).
On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan has 10,867 runs in 269 games across formats, including 24 hundreds and 55 half-centuries. He won the 2013 Champions Trophy with the Men in Blue.
The duo is among a rare list of players with 1000-plus runs in the ICC tournaments. Coincidentally, the two players have led Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“We don’t dwell on losses or wins” – Shikhar Dhawan defends Rohit Sharma’s captaincy as India lose Test series after 12 years
Shikhar Dhawan recently defended skipper Rohit Sharma after India’s series loss to New Zealand. He told India Today:
"The pressure you all talk about isn't something we feel. While there is pressure in the game, we don't dwell on losses or wins; that's part of the game. I feel that's neither a fair nor a practical approach toward anything.”
“As a cricketer, we don't think that way. And Rohit is a great leader; it's not just about winning and losing. There's a bond, the team's connection with its leader, and how much they look up to him,” he added.
India’s last series loss at home came in 2012 under MS Dhoni’s captaincy when they lost 2-1 against Sir Alastair Cook-led England.
Rohit Sharma will next lead India in the upcoming 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. India have not lost a Test series Down Under since 2014.
Team India will look to register a hat-trick of Test series wins in Australia after winning the 2018-19 and the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar Trophy by 2-1 margins. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane led the Men in Blues on the last two tours.
