The famous Indian quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) featured a question about the Indian Premier League (2024) season. The episode was aired live on TV on Wednesday, September 11.

The host of the show, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan asked the following question to the contestant:

"Which team wore a special 'Pink Promise' jersey in their match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in April 2024?"

The options to the above question were: Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.

The correct answer to the above question was the Royals. Royals donned a special pink jersey as a part of their initiative to empower the women of Rajasthan and the nation. Led by Jos Buttler's century off 58 balls, Royals chased down a target of 184 set by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who were powered by Virat Kohli's knock of 113* off 72 balls.

Rajasthan Royals once again came close to fighting for their second title but fell short after an impressive IPL season. The 2008 champions started off their season well, stringing wins after wins. They even managed to chase down a score of 224 in their league stage game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), courtesy of a hundred by Jos Buttler.

Since then, their fortunes dwindled and they were on an inconsistent run, failing to win matches in heaps. They had enough points on board which helped them seal qualification, despite their last game being a washout. In the eliminator, they were up against a spirited Royal Challengers Bengaluru side, whom they beat by four wickets.

In Qualifier 2, they were up against SunRisers Hyderabad who were in red-hot form. Batting first, SRH scored 175/9 in their 20 overs thanks to vital knocks from Heinrich Klaasen (50 off 34) and Rahul Tripathi (37 off 15).

For Rajasthan Royals, it was Dhruv Jurel (56* off 35) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (42 off 21) who did the bulk of the runs scoring, yet the Royals fell short by 36 runs.
