Renowned Indian quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) featured a question about the 2024 Indian Premier League. The show was aired live on television today, September 13.

The anchor of the show, legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, asked the following question to the contestant:

"The captain of which of these IPL teams in 2024 was a non-Indian?"

The alternatives to the above question were: SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad), CSK (Chennai Super Kings), KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders), and MI (Mumbai Indians).

The correct alternative to the above question was the first option, Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH had appointed Australian Test captain, Pat Cummins as their skipper for the 2024 IPL Season. He replaced Aiden Markram as the skipper of the side. Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK), Shreyas Iyer (KKR), and Hardik Pandya (MI) were the captains of the other sides listed in the options.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a fantastic run this year in the IPL, which started a dialogue around the franchise and the way they played their cricket. In their 14 league stage games, they won eight and lost five, and one game against Gujarat Titans was abandoned due to rain.

Throughout the tournament, they rewrote the record of the highest IPL score, scoring 277/3 against Mumbai Indians and bettering it later by scoring 287/3 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Towards the end of the tournament, SRH lost their form as they lost Qualifier 1 to Kolkata Knight Riders. They beat Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 and set up a date with KKR for their first final in six years. They were shot out for 113 before KKR chased it down in a hurry and won their third IPL trophy.
