Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell flaunted his six-pack abs in his latest social media ahead of his side's last league game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2024 in Guwahati on Sunday, May 19.

Russell is one of the fittest cricketers in the world. He has been sensational for the Knight Riders as they qualified for the playoffs this season.

Russell has amassed 222 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 185, including a half-century. He has also scalped 15 wickets but at an economy rate of 10.30 in IPL 2024 so far. The Jamaican-born player is critical to KKR's success as they aim to win their third IPL trophy, the first since 2014.

Taking to Instagram, Andre Russell dropped a selfie of his chiseled body and captioned the post:

Overall, Andre Russell has 2,484 runs and 111 wickets in IPL. He is only the second cricketer to have over 2,000 runs and 100-plus wickets after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the T20 extravaganza.

Apart from IPL, Russell has also returned to the West Indies squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. The 36-year-old will now look to deliver for the Men in Maroon at the mega event as they look for a third trophy.

"I have made a few [technical] changes" - Andre Russell on his turnaround season with KKR in IPL

In a recent interview, Andre Russell opened up about his turnaround this season after a forgetful season with KKR in IPL last year. Russell had scored 227 runs at a strike rate of 145.51 and scalped seven wickets last season.

"I have made a few [technical] changes. I was batting in the nets in Abu Dhabi and Sunil [Narine] mentioned something to me as he was watching my technique. And I realised, I was moving too much [forward]," he was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
"So I worked on my stride towards the delivery. Now having a short stride is working for me. When I look at most big-hitters, they don't really have a big stride. So that's one thing I have done and now I have a bit more time to play the ball," Russell added.

Sunil Narine too has been exceptional with the bat this season, scoring 461 runs in 12 games at a strike rate of 182.93, including one century and three 50s. He also has 15 wickets at a stunning economy rate of 6.64.

With 19 points in 13 games, Shreyas Iyer-led KKR have already booked their place in the top two of IPL 2024 points table.
