Indian pacers Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umesh Yadav reunited on the auspicious occasion of 2024 Diwali. The trio was accompanied by their wives Pratima Singh, Nupur Nagar, Tanya Wadhva, and their kids.

They looked brilliant in ethnic wear to celebrate the festival of lights. Sharing the post on Instagram, Nupur Nagar wrote:

The three senior players have not played for Team India over the last few years. Umesh played his last game against Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final. Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar and Ishant last represented the Men in Blue in 2022 and 2021, respectively.

While Ishant and Bhuvneshwar seem to have moved on from aspirations to play for India, Umesh shared a cryptic post after being ignored for the last three out of five Tests against England earlier this year.

In a poetic post, he wrote:

“Kitaabon par dhool jamne se, kahaaniyan khatm nahi hoti (Stories don't end just because books gather dust).”

However, the trio are active in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Umesh picked up 12 wickets in seven games for Gujarat Titans (GT) last year. Bhuvneshwar and Ishant picked up 11 and 10 wickets in 16 and nine games for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC), respectively.

It’s unlikely that the trio will be retained by their respective franchises for the 2025 season. They, however, are likely to participate in the mega auction and could be picked solely based on experience.
