For the unversed, Chahal and Dhanashree met each other during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Chahal had enrolled in an online class to learn dance from Dhanashree, a choreographer besides being a YouTuber and Dentist. The couple dated for a few months before tying the knot on December 22, 2020.

“I straightaway told her, I don’t want to date you, I want to marry you” – When Yuzvendra Chahal shared his love story with Dhanashree Verma

Last year, Yuzvendra Chahal opened up about his love story with Dhanashree. He also revealed how he proposed to her for marriage. He said (via Ranveer Allahabadia on YouTube):

“During lockdown, I had nothing to do. I wanted to learn 4-5 dance steps. I sent her a DM as I had seen her dance on reels. I messaged her, asking if she takes dance classes. Online classes started from there. In the first couple of months, we only spoke about dance.”
“One night I was sitting and I messaged her saying, ‘I want to ask you something’. I asked her how she is so happy in everything even during the lockdown. Our proper interaction started from there. I liked her vibes - she’s a self-made woman, like me. I really liked her and then I told my mom-dad about it. I straightaway told her, I don’t want to date you, I want to marry you. I was sure that she’s the girl,” he added.

The couple are quite popular on social media, sharing funny videos and endearing pictures.

On the professional front, Yuzvendra Chahal has failed to get a game in the 2024 T20 World Cup so far, with India having played three group-stage matches. The Rajasthan Royals spinner might continue to warm the bench for the remaining matches as left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is considered the favorite to play in the Super Eight stage for the Men in Blue.

Meanwhile, Dhanashree finished among the top five finalists in 2023 Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, a popular dance reality show.
