[Pictures] “Nothing beats nature’s ice dip” – KL Rahul spends quality time in Dharamshala on two-day World Cup break
KL Rahul spent some quality time in Dharamsala during Team India’s two-day break after their World Cup game against New Zealand. While the support staff enjoyed trekking to celebrate five consecutive wins, the players were allowed to explore the picturesque town.
Rahul made the most of his time and enjoyed in an ice-cold stream from the Dhauladhar Himalayan range. In a couple of pictures shared on Instagram, he can be seen taking a dip in a stream. The wicketkeeper-batter captioned the post:
“Nothing beats nature’s ice dip.”
On the professional front, Rahul has amassed 177 runs in four innings at an average of 83.09 in the World Cup, with best score of 97* against the five-time champions Australia. The middle-order batter also remained unbeaten on 19 and 34 versus Pakistan and Bangladesh, respectively.
Rahul will next be seen in action against England in the 2023 World Cup match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on October 29. The right-hander enjoys a decent record against England, having amassed 210 runs in nine ODIs at an average of 30, including one hundred and a half-century.
With question marks over all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s availability for England’s game, Rahul will be critical for the team’s success with the bat.
The Men in Blue will aim to continue their winning momentum in the ongoing World Cup after registering wins over Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand.
Jos Buttler-led England, meanwhile, have managed to win only one out of their first four matches. The defending champions beat Bangladesh by 137 runs but lost to New Zealand, Afghanistan, and South Africa. They will play Sri Lanka in Bengaluru before the India-England showdown.
