[Pictures] “Well come to the triple century club” – Chris Gayle shares snapshot with Harry Brook ahead of WI vs ENG ODIs

Legendary batter Chris Gayle shared a picture with Harry Brook ahead of the upcoming white-ball series between West Indies and England, which starts on Thursday, October 31. Gayle welcomed Brook into the elite list of players who have scored triple centuries in Test cricket.

Notably, Brook slammed 317 runs off 322 balls, hitting three sixes and 29 boundaries in the first Test against Pakistan in Multan. The right-handed batter was the second-fastest to reach the landmark, achieving the milestone in 310 deliveries, only behind Virender Sehwag (278 balls). Brook’s performance helped England thrash Pakistan by an innings and 47 runs.

In a story shared on Instagram on Tuesday (October 29), Gayle can be seen enjoying beer with Brook. He wrote:

Gayle is among only four players with two triple centuries in the format. Others are Sehwag, Don Bradman and Brian Lara. Gayle had slammed 317 and 333 against South Africa and Sri Lanka in 2005 and 2010, respectively.

Coincidentally, Brook (once) and Gayle (twice) have won the T20 World Cup for England and the West Indies, respectively.

Notably, England players play an aggressive brand of cricket under the ‘Bazball’ tagline. Gayle used to play a similar brand of cricket during his legendary career.

Gayle finished as the third-highest run-scorer for WI in internationals, amassing 19593 runs in 483 matches, including 42 tons and 105 half-centuries. He is only behind Brian Lara (22,358) and Shivnarine Chanderpaul (20,988).
