"We should learn from England to pick up 20 wickets"- Pakistan captain Shan Masood after losing the first Test in Multan
At the post-match presentation, Pakistan skipper Shan Masood reflected on the disappointing loss, saying that they need to learn from Ben Stokes and company to pick up 20 wickets in a Test match.
Masood said:
"At the end of the day, it is a team game and it has its own repercussions. We spoke about scoring 550 and picking up ten wickets but we failed to do that. We are getting into good positions, with the batting attack scoring big runs. 220 runs in the third innings depending on the need is a good score. We should learn from England to pick up 20 wickets and we need to improve and learn to set matches on Days four and five."
He added:
"England showed how to go about things and we might have conditions our way or not. We need to perform on a regular basis. We love playing the game, hurt as a nation by the result. I never try and shy away from responsibility. What hurts is that our country is not getting the result it deserves and hopefully we will be able to turn things around."
The second Test of the three-match series between Pakistan and England will commence on October 15 at the same venue.
