Rain predicted for all 5 days of 3rd BGT 2024-25 Test at The Gabba in Brisbane

The third Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins at The Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday, December 14, is expected to be affected by weather. There is prediction for rain on all five days of the India vs Australia Test.

The five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy is presently level at 1-1. India won the opening match of the series in Perth by 295 runs. Australia came back with a strong performance in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide to level the series. Both teams will be keen to win the Brisbane Test and go 2-1 up in the five-match series.

Rain could play spoilsport in the third India vs Australia Test at The Gabba. As per AccuWeather, there is an 88 percent probability of precipitation and a 53 percent probability of thunderstorms on the opening day of the contest. The prediction for Day 2 says that there could be a shower in the morning. Also, there is a 46 percent probability of precipitation and a nine percent probability of thunderstorms.

The prediction for rain and thunderstorms also persists on the last three days of the Test match at The Gabba. As per AccuWeather, showers are expected in the morning on Day 3, with periods of clouds and sunshine. The probability of precipitation is 68 percent and the probability of thunderstorms is 14 percent.

Looking at Day 4, the prediction states that there will be a passing shower or two in the morning. The probability of precipitation and probability of thunderstorms are almost the same as Day 5. As for the last day of the Gabba Test, the weather prediction is much brighter. It is expected to be partly sunny and uncomfortably humid in the morning, with a thunderstorm in the afternoon.


Hazelwood returns as Australia announce playing XI for The Gabba Test

Australia have confirmed their playing XI for the third Test against India at The Gabba. Pacer Josh Hazlewood, who missed the second Test in Adelaide due to a side strain, returns to the playing XI after being declared fit. He will replace Scott Boland, who claimed five wickets in the pink-ball Test.

The hosts have retained Usman Khawaja and Steven Smith, who struggled for runs in the first two Tests. While Khawaja has a highest of 13 from four innings, Smith has a highest score of 17 from three. There will also be pressure on Nathan McSweeney, who has found the going tough in his first two Tests.
