"Proud to get that close with some special contributions"- South Africa captain Aiden Markram after losing 3rd T20I vs India 2024
At the post-match presentation, South Africa skipper Aiden Markram reflected on the loss, saying:
"Proud to get that close with some special contributions from the top and middle order. Lot to take away from that, was a game of really small margins. Couple of key moments here and there, can tidy up on a couple of things at Joburg. Just about execution, don't go for boundaries with the ball. With the bat as well, get a bigger partnership, inject some momentum and the rest of the batters chip in."
He continued:
"220 is tough to chase at any day, we got nice and close at the end. Almost like an over-by-over game between bat and ball, winning more overs helps you stand a chance. Thought it was incredible with how Jansen got it close. We need to address areas where we can be better, take confidence from the good areas, batters got a bit of momentum tonight, bowlers executed their plans. We go again on Friday."
India and South Africa will square off in the fourth and final T20I of the series on Friday (November 15) at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
