Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Shams Mulani claims 11 as Mumbai thump Odisha, Andhra draw with Uttarakhand despite KS Bharat's heroics

Mumbai hammered Odisha by an innings and 103 runs in a Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Group A match at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai on Saturday, November 9. Resuming their second innings on Day 4 at 126-5, Odisha were bowled out for 214. Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani finished with 5-71 to go with his first-innings six-fer. Shreyas Iyer (233) also had a memorable game.

In a Group B match in Vizianagaram, Uttarakhand escaped with a draw against Andhra. Set a target of 321, Andhra resumed the day at 8-1. Karan Shinde (65) and Hanuma Vihari (66) scored half-centuries, but the knocks came off 171 and 189 deliveries respectively. Keeper-batter KS Bharat clobbered 92 off only 90 balls, with the aid of 12 fours and a six. Andhra, however, finished on 286-6.

Meanwhile, in Guwahati, the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 clash between Tamil Nadu and Assam ended in a draw. Tamil Nadu resumed their second innings on Day 4 at 8-0 and finished on 217-2. Narayan Jagadeesan scored an unbeaten 118, while Pradosh Ranjan Paul returned undefeated on 68.


Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Vidarbha crush Himachal Pradesh to continue impressive run

In a Group B match of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 in Nagpur, Vidarbha thumped Himachal Pradesh by an innings and 88 runs to register their fourth straight win. Left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey was the standout performer for Vidarbha, registering figures of 5-71 & 6-36. Yash Rathod scored 128 while opener Dhruv Shorey contributed 125.

In a Group D match, Chandigarh got the better of Delhi by nine wickets. Chasing a target of 203, Chandigarh cruised home as Shivam Bhambri remained unbeaten on 100, while Arslan Khan contributed 68. Bhambri, who scored 80 off 111 in the first innings, was named Player of the Match.

In a Ranji Trophy 2024-25 clash in Pune, Services beat Maharashtra by 35 runs after setting them a target of 339. Maharashtra skipper Ankit Bawne's 94* went in vain as Pulkit Narang claimed 6-87, while Amit Shukla picked up 4-94 to go with his 7-65 in the first innings. Meanwhile, in Thumba, Jalaj Saxena finished with 11 as Kerala beat Uttar Pradesh by an innings and 117 runs.

Looking at some of the other results, Baroda and Tripura played out a draw in Agartala, while the match between Jharkhand and Saurashtra in Ranchi also ended in a draw. Bengal took three points following their draw against Karnataka in Bengaluru based on the first-innings lead.
