Ranji Trophy 2024 Round 2, Day 2 Round-up: Mayank Agarwal slams ton, Bhuvneshwar Kumar finishes with 8-fer
Skipper Mayank Agarwal led from the front with 109 off 124 balls as Karnataka gained the upper hand over Gujarat on Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy 2024 Group C match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, January 13. Agarwal struck 17 fours and a six in his knock as Karnataka went to stumps on Day 2 on 328/5 in response to Gujarat’s first innings score of 264.
At Green Park in Kanpur, veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar continued to shine in his first first-class appearance in six years. Having completed his five-wicket haul for Uttar Pradesh on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy 2024 Group B match against Bengal, he finished with career-best figures of 8/41. Bengal were bowled out for 188 in response to UP’s 60. By stumps on Day 2, Uttar Pradesh were 46/0 loss in their second innings.
In a Group D clash, Subhranshu Senapati struck an unbeaten 277 off 483 balls as Odisha went to stumps on Day 2 at 493/8 versus Madhya Pradesh in Indore. Senapati has so far hit 19 fours and 11 sixes in his knock and could look to complete a triple hundred on Day 3.
