Ravindra Jadeja joins BJP amid the party's 'Sadasyata Abhiyan' campaignÂ
Team India's veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, September 3. Notably, the cricketer's wife Rivaba Jadeja joined the BJP in 2019 and is a party Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Jamnagar seat in Gujarat.
Jadeja became a member of the BJP amid the party's 'Sanghathan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan' campaign. The membership drive is conducted every six years and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's membership was renewed during the launch of the event at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.
Taking to her official X handle, Rivaba shared pictures of her and her husband's BJP membership cards.
It is worth mentioning that Ravindra Jadeja has campaigned for Rivaba in the past. While the 32-year-old's wife has been associated with the BJP, his father Aniruddhsinh Jadeja and sister Naynaba Jadeja joined the Congress in 2019.
On the cricketing front, Jadeja was part of India's 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. The seasoned campaigner announced his retirement from T20Is following the Men in Blue's triumph at the showpiece event.

During a media interaction, Rivaba Jadeja mentioned that she has kicked off BJP's membership drive from her home, with Ravindra Jadeja joining the party as a member. She was quoted as saying by India TV News:
"I have started the membership campaign from my home. Yesterday, the BJP organized a press conference as part of its membership campaign. The campaign was run by BJP city and district."
Ravindra Jadeja was set to play in the ongoing 17th edition of the Duldeep Trophy. He was initially named in the Team B squad. However, the senior player was released from the squad ahead of the red-ball domestic competition.
Jadeja is likely to be seen in action in India's upcoming two-match home Test series against Bangladesh. The first Test will be played in Chennai from September 19.
