RCB Retention List IPL 2025: Full list of players retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Price tags in INR and Purse remaining
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have unveiled the list of players that they have chosen to retain ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega-auction. The three-time finalists are looking for a major overhaul after retaining only three players from their existing squad, which finished fourth in the previous season.
Along expected lines, it is the franchise talisman, Virat Kohli, who is retained as the top pick for a sum of INR 21 crore, the highest retention price for an Indian player in history.
Apart from the ace batter, RCB have chosen to keep hold of their premier Indian batter apart from Virat Kohli, which is Rajat Patidar, for a price of INR 11 crore.
Along with the aforementioned duo, the franchise has opted to retain an uncapped player in Yash Dayal. The left-arm pacer was one of the highlights for RCB in a frenetic campaign and also earned a national call-up recently. He is retained for a sum of INR 5 crore, which matches his existing salary.
With this strategy, RCB have several RTM cards that they can wield during the auction if they wish to rope in some former players. It must be noted that the franchise chose not to retain any overseas player, which leaves the likes of Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green on the auction pool among others.
Another player that will be targetted with the RTM is bowling spearhead Mohammed Siraj, who was one of the three retentions following the culmination of the previous cycle.

After making minimal retentions, which includes only two uncapped players, RCB head into the mega auction with a healthy purse. With the salaries for the retained three players subtracted from the overall INR 120 crore cap, RCB have a total of INR 83 crore available to form the remainder of their squad.
