RCB Retention List WPL 2025: Full list of players retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Price Tags in INR and Purse remaining

Defending Women's Premier League (WPL) champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced their retention list ahead of the 2025 auction. The franchise has retained 14 players, and released seven members as the official list was unveiled on Thursday, November 7, the extended deadline set by the governing body.

The Smriti Mandhana-led side has kept a hold of the core that helped the side win the title earlier this year. All the major names including the likes of Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Asha Sobhana, Renuka Singh Thakur, Shreyanka Patil and Sophie Molineux have been retained by the franchise.

In fact, RCB have released only two overseas players in the form of South Africa's Nadine de Klerk, and England captain Heather Knight. As far as the other releases are concerned, Disha Kasat, Indrani Roy, Shubha Satheesh, Shraddha Pokarkar, and Simran Bahadur failed to make it to the retention list and as a result, are headed into the WPL 2025 auction.

It is to be noted that RCB roped in Danni Wyatt-Hodge as part of an off-season trade move from the UP Warriorz for ₹30 lakh. She has been naturally retained by the franchise as she prepares for her first season with her new team.

RCB purse for IPL 2025 Auction

The WPL franchises have a salary cap of ₹15 crore, an increase from the ₹13.5 crore from last year.

RCB have exhausted the majority of that amount by retaining a near-majority of their title-winning squad. However, that also means that the franchise does not have too many slots to fill in the overall squad, other than perhaps strengthening the bench.

As a result, RCB will not be the busiest franchise at the auction table with a purse amount of ₹3.25 crore in hand to spend.
