Jasprit Bumrah starred with the ball for Team India in their 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa in Barbados on June 29. The ace speedster showcased tremendous composure under pressure in the death over, swinging the pendulum in his team's favor with a terrific spell.
Chasing 177 runs, the Proteas looked to be in the driver's seat after 15 overs, requiring a run-a-ball 30 with dangerous batters Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller at the crease. However, Bumrah had other plans.
The Indian pace spearhead conceded just four runs off the 16th over. The equation came down to 22 off 18 balls with five wickets in hand for South Africa after 17 overs.
Skipper Rohit Sharma handed the ball to Bumrah once again, hoping for a miraculous turnaround. The 30-year-old showed why he is considered as one of the best death bowlers in white-ball cricket, giving away just two runs while claiming the crucial wicket of Marco Jansen.
