"RETIRE HOJAO BHAI" - Fans react as Rohit Sharma departs for 6 off 15 in BGT 2024-25 2nd Test
India captain Rohit Sharma fell cheaply again in the second innings of the day/night Test against Australia on Day 2 in Adelaide on Saturday, December 7. The right-handed batter was cleaned up by his Aussie counterpart Pat Cummins, departing for six runs off 15 balls. The Mumbai batter previously managed three runs off 23 deliveries in the first essay, lbw by Scott Boland.
Rohit's twin failures came as he moved back to No. 6 after 37 Tests to ensure the in-form KL Rahul open in the pink-ball Test. The 37-year-old has been dismal with the bat in the last six Tests, including the second Test against Australia. He previously managed just 133 runs in five Tests (10 innings), including a solitary half-century.
Fans on X trolled Rohit for his flop show in Adelaide. One user wrote:
"Rohit Sharma Not A Test Batsman."
Another user wrote:
"Rohit Sharma please retire."
A third user added:
"Jay Shah should arrange a flight mid series for Rohit Sharma. RETIRE HOJAO BHAI itna fanbase bangya hai post 23 & 24 please don't ruin it."
