Rinku Singh turns Pushpa with UP teammates after SMAT 2024

Team India and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cricketer Rinku Singh recreated a popular hook step from the movie Pushpa with his Uttar Pradesh (UP) teammates. Taking to his official Instagram handle. Singh posted a story where he and his teammates are seen recreating the hook step in the gym.

Rinku Singh played for the Uttar Pradesh team in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 season. UP's run in the tournament came to an end after their defeat in the quarter-final against Delhi by 19 runs.

The left-hander put up a decent display, finishing as the highest run-getter for his team. Rinku scored 277 runs from eight innings at an average of 69.25 and a strike-rate of 152.19, including a half-century as well. His top score in the tournament was 70.

Despite his impressive performances, UP failed to advance past the quarter-finals after finishing second in Group C with five wins and two defeats.

Chasing a target of 194 runs in the quarter-final against Delgi, UP were bowled out for 174. Rinku Singh managed only 10 runs from 7 balls, failing to take his team over the line.


Rinku Singh was among KKR's top retentions

Ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, Rinku Singh was retained by the Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹13 crores. He made his IPL debut with KKR in 2018 and has been a part of the team ever since.

The left-handed batter has played 46 matches and has scored 893 runs from 40 innings at an average of 30.79 and a strike rate of 143.33. Rinku has also smashed four half-centuries with a top score of 67 not out in his IPL career so far.
