Rishabh Pant has become the latest Indian cricketer to get vaccinated, with the wicketkeeper-batsman taking the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The 23-year-old made the announcement on social media, sharing a picture of himself getting the jab.

Wearing sunglasses, a half-sleeved, crew cut t-shirt and ripped jeans, Rishabh Pant took the jab at a vaccination center on Thursday afternoon. Pant also urged others to step up and get the vaccine. He wrote that getting the vaccine will help everyone in their fight against COVID-19.

Several of India’s first-team regulars took their first jab ahead of the England tour. The likes of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Pant will be administered the second dose in the UK, where the Test team will play the World Test Championship final against New Zealand. This will be followed by a five-match Test series against England.
