“Rohit Sharma is a far better batter than him” - When Pakistan pacer from 2015 World Cup chose between India’s 2 stars
Former Pakistan pacer Sohail Khan chose Rohit Sharma over Virat Kohli when asked on a podcast. The statement made by him is doing the rounds on the internet.
Sohail has represented Pakistan in nine Tests, 13 ODIs, and five T20Is. The pacer was also a part of the Pakistani team that played in the 2015 ICC Men's ODI World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking to host Nadir Ali on the latter's podcast, the pacer gave the following answer when asked whether he would choose Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli:
"I respect Kohli because he is a very big batsman. But as a bowler, I feel Rohit Sharma is a far better batsman than him. His technique is superb. He plays the ball very late like he has all the time in the world," he said
Adding to that, the 40-year-old compared the batting styles of the two stalwarts and said:
"Kohli scores runs based on his fitness. If he scores one run, he is immediately ready for the next. Rohit doesn't do that. He scores one run and doesn't even try for the next. Rohit scores with his bat. Kohli scores with his bat and by running between the wickets. Again, that is a good thing because when you are that fit, you reflects automatically."
Sohail Khan has played only once against India, with his appearance dating back to the India vs Pakistan clash at the 2015 ICC Mens ODI World Cup held at the Adelaide Oval in Australia. He was the stand-out bowler for Pakistan, picking up five wickets runs in 10 overs.
