Royal London One Day Cup 2024 Points Table: Updated standings after Glamorgan vs Yorkshire, Match 72

Eight matches of the Royal London One Day Cup 2024 were scheduled on Wednesday, August 14. In Group A, Derbyshire defeated Durham, Hampshire beat Middlesex, Lancashire outclassed Worcestershire, and Kent lost to Northamptonshire.

In Group B, Gloucestershire lost to Leicestershire, Essex beat Sussex, Nottinghamshire defeated Warwickshire, and Glamorgan hammered Yorkshire.

Somerset are still atop the standings with 12 points from eight games. Worcestershire and Hampshire, who have qualified for the knockout stage, are ranked second and third, respectively, with 10 points each.

Derbyshire finished fourth with 10 points. Meanwhile, Durham dropped to fifth, and Middlesex, Kent, Northamptonshire, and Lancashire occupy the next four spots, respectively.

Glamorgan and Leicestershire secured the top two spots with both sides claiming six wins out of eight games, while Warwickshire finished third, earning 11 points and advancing to the next stage.

Nottinghamshire, Gloucestershire, and Yorkshire followed in the standings, with eight points each. On the other hand, Essex, Surrey, and Sussex ended the season at the bottom, with three wins, two wins, and one win, respectively.

Derbyshire bowled out Durham for 253 with Scott Borthwick scoring a century. In reply, Derbyshire chased the target in 48.5 overs thanks to David Lloyd’s 63 off 72 and Harry Came’s 45 off 75.

In the following game, Hampshire set a 277-run target for Middlesex, thanks to Toby Albert’s 75* and forty plus knocks from Tom Prest (40), Ben Brown (41), and Liam Dawson (48). Luke Hollman took a four-fer for Middlesex. In reply, Hampshire bundled them out for 257 in 48.1 overs with Kyle Abbott taking a four-wicket haul.

Worcestershire bowled out Lancashire for 237 as skipper Josh Bohannon smashed 87 and George Balderson scored a half-century. In reply, Worcestershire fell short by three runs despite a gritty knock from captain Jake Libby (83).

In a rain-affected match between Gloucestershire and Leicestershire, the former had reached 192/9 in 36 overs. Leicestershire reached the revised target of 196 in 33.4 overs with four wickets in hand.

Meanwhile, Essex chased a target of 227 runs against Sussex in 45.2 overs. Jamie Porter led the bowling department with a four-fer while skipper Tom Westley smashed a match-winning 77 off 68.

Warwickshire were bowled out for 182 in the next game against Nottinghamshire. In reply, Nottinghamshire scored 135 in 28 overs for the loss of five wickets. However, rain interrupted the match when they were 12 runs ahead of the DLS par score, which resulted in a Nottts win.

In the last game of the day, Glamorgan scored 230/9 against Yorkshire in 47 overs. Billy Root top-scored with 66 off 68. In response, they dismantled Yorkshire in 42 overs for 168 runs. Andy Gorvin took four wickets while Ben Kellaway chipped in with three.
