Following his exploits in the IPL 2025 season for RR, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named in India's U19 squad for the upcoming England tour. The tour comprises five youth ODIs and two youth Tests, with young Ayush Mhatre set to lead the Indian team.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a dream IPL debut season with RR
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become a sensation following his debut IPL season, where he represented RR. The 14-year-old was acquired for ₹1.1 crore by the franchise during the mega auction ahead of the season.
With captain Sanju Samson missing some games due to injury, Suryavanshi got an opportunity to open the batting. The left-hander made the most of his opportunities, scoring 252 runs from seven matches at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 206.55 with a hundred and a half-century.
He displayed a fearless approach, taking on the bowlers from the word go and batting with an attacking intent. Vaibhav Suryavanshi also smashed a 35-ball hundred and became the youngest batter to score a T20 ton and the quickest century by an Indian in IPL history.
RR had a disappointing season as they failed to make it to the playoffs and finished ninth on the table with just four wins and eight points. However, the young left-hander turned out to be a huge positive and among the finds of the season.
