Conway and Gaikwad are quality batters for us; they have a special bond between them: CSK batting coach Mike Hussey
Speaking at the mid-innings break, CSK batting coach Mike Hussey applauded Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad for their consistent performances and mentioned that the duo shares a special bond on and off the field.
Reflecting on the action in the first innings, Hussey said:
"Would've grabbed it with both the hands had you said this to me at the start of the game. Briliant total on the board, but it's only half the job is done. When talked to few people from the ground, they said, it's the better pitches in the tournament. It did look like it started to slow down at the backend of the innings. Conway and Gaikwad are quality batters for us, they have a special bond between them.
He added:
"Rutu had it with Faf years go and the same relation is now with Conway as well. We wanted Dhoni to bat as late possible, his knee is not 100% still and he wants to come in for the last few overs. He is still hitting the ball long way like he used to."
