"Garden me ghoomega tho pata hai na" - Suryakumar Yadav pokes fun at Yashasvi Jaiswal's recent Instagram post
Team India cricketer Suryakumar Yadav recently poked fun at teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal's Instagram picture. The Indian contingent is currently in New York for the 2024 T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in the West Indies and the USA, starting June 1.
The Indian team landed in New York in two batches. The first set of cricketers included skipper Rohit Sharma and pacer Jasprit Bumrah, while the second batch had Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, and Jaiswal.
Jaiswal recently shared a picture of himself roaming the streets of New York. Suraykumar poked fun at his young teammate on the post, writing:
"Sambhaal ke. Garden me ghoomega tho pata hai na."
The Men in Blue have already begun their preparations for the 2024 T20 World Cup. They are placed in Group A alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, co-hosts USA, Ireland, and Canada.
They will begin their World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York.
India haven't won the T20 World Cup since MS Dhoni guided a young side to the trophy in 2007 in South Africa. They crashed out of the semi-finals in the last edition of the T20 World Cup after losing to eventual champions England by 10 wickets.
How did Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suryakumar Yadav perform in IPL 2024?
Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had a stellar IPL campaign last year that paved his way into the Indian team. However, he couldn't replicate those performances in IPL 2024 and endured a mixed campaign. The southpaw aggregated 435 runs in 15 innings at an average of 31.07 and a strike rate of 155.91.
Suryakumar Yadav, on the other hand, had an average campaign and failed to live up to his standards. The World No.1 T20 batter amassed 345 runs in 11 games at an average of 34.50 and a strike rate of 167.48, including three fifties and one hundred.
