Samit Dravid included in India U-19 squad for multi-format home series against Australia
Samit Dravid has been picked in the India U-19 squad for the multi-format home series against Australia Under-19, which will be played in September and October. The 18-year-old has scored 82 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 114 in the 2024 Maharaja T20 Trophy, Mysuru Warriors.
On Saturday, August 31, the BCCI named the India U-19 squads for the one-day series and four-day series matches against Australia U-19. The India U-19 side will play three one-day matches against Australia U-19 in Puducherry on September 21, 23 and 26. The two sides will then clash in two four-day games in Chennai from September 30 to October 10.
Samit, the son of Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid, was one of the heroes of the Karnataka team that won the Cooch Behar Trophy. The right-handed batter scored 362 runs and took 16 wickets in eight games, which included two wickets in the final against Mumbai.
Mohamed Amaan, a batter from Uttar Pradesh, will captain the India U-19 one-day squad against Australia U-19. Madhya Pradesh's Soham Patwardhan has been picked as skipper for the four-day matches.
