The second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024 matches concluded on Sunday (September 15) in Anantapur. After losing the first match, India A made a strong comeback with a comfortable 186-run victory against India D side to get off the mark in the points table. The other contest between India B and India C ended in a stale draw, with only three innings of play across four days.

In the third match of the tournament, Mayank Agarwal-led India A batted first and scored 290 in the 1st innings on the back of half-centuries from Shams Mulani (89) and Tanush Kotian (53). India D got bundled out for 183, thanks to a collective effort from the opposition bowling unit. Devdutt Padikkal waged a lone battle for them with a brilliant knock of 92 (124) but did not get support from the other end.

Pratham Singh (122) and Tilak Varma (111*) hit centuries in the third innings for India A, helping set a massive target of 488. In the other match, India C scored a mammoth total of 525 after being asked to bat first. Ishan Kishan (111), Manav Suthar (82), Baba Indrajith (78), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (58) performed well in the batting department. Abhimanyu Easwan (157*) then led India B from the front with the bat, notching up a valiant unbeaten century as his team got all out for 332 in 108 overs.
