"You will find that all overseas players had a reduction"- Aakash Chopra after IPL 2025 mega auction

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra highlighted that the prices of overseas players have reduced in the mega auction after they went for huge money over the past few years. In a video on his YouTube channel "Aakash Chopra," he analyzed the auction trends, saying:

"IPL said they wanted to do a course correction. They said that if you don't register in the big auction, say tata bye-bye to the IPL for the next two years.
"When all overseas players registered, there was a course correction. The most expensive overseas player sold was Jos Buttler for ₹15.75 crore, which is a fair price. Apart from him, you will find that all overseas players had a reduction."

He also gave his opinion on the reduction of prices for the uncapped players, by adding:

"There was another course correction. That was for the uncapped Indians. Overseas players weren't the only ones benefitting in the mini-auctions. The Indian uncapped players also benefitted a lot. The main players didn't come, only uncapped players came. So whether it was Sameer Rizvi, Kumar Kushagra or Robin Minz, they used to suddenly go off the charts."
