"Scoring against Zimbabwe is not as easy as King Babar made it look like" - Top 10 funny memes after Zimbabwe's win vs India in 1st T20I

Zimbabwe registered a memorable 13-run victory against Team India in the opening contest of the five-match T20I series on Saturday, July 6. The Harare Sports Club in Harare played host to this low-scoring encounter.

India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first in the contest. It proved to be a mistake in hindsight, as the surface got slow as the game progressed, which made chasing difficult for the visiting team.

Clive Madande (29*), Brian Bennett (22), Dion Myers (23), and Wessly Madhevere (21) chipped in with mini contributions to help Zimbabwe reach 115/9 in the first innings. The Indian spinners Ravi Bishnoi (4/13) and Washington Sundar (2/11) posed challenges to the home team batters with magnificent spells.

Shubman Gill (31) then anchored the chase during the first half of the second innings and kept India in the hunt even after a batting line-up collapse. Sikandar Raza cleaned him up in the 11th over to put Zimbabwe in the driver's seat, reducing India to 47/6.

Washington Sundar (27) then fought in the company of lower-order batters and kept his side alive till the last over. However, the target eventually proved too much.

Fans took note of Zimbabwe's spirited performance against India in the first T20I and expressed their reactions by sharing hilarious memes. They also used Pakistan and Babar Azam's history with the African nation while compiling the memes. Here are some of the best ones on X:

He continued:

"As long as we go out there and give it a tough fight, give the crowd what they deserve, I'm happy. The fans were there to lift us up with their energy and we did not let them down today. Hope to keep this going!"
