"Sir, do hi haath hain" - Virat Kohli's awkward moment with Kanpur hotel staff ahead of IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test

Virat Kohli and a staff member of the Kanpur hotel where the Indian team is staying shared an awkward moment after the former's arrival on Wednesday, September 24. Kohli and Rishabh Pant reached the hotel together and were welcomed by some staff members. The former was presented with a bouquet by one, but could not shake hands with another since he was already holding his bag.

Team India will take on Bangladesh at Green Park in Kanpur in the second Test of the two-match series starting Friday, September 27. The hosts are 1-0 up in the series, having registered a 280-run triumph in the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai.

Members of both the Indian and Bangladesh teams arrived in Kanpur on Wednesday for the second Test. Several videos and pictures of the same went viral. In one of the clips, Kohli is seen being welcomed by the staff at Kanpur hotel on arrival. One of the members presents him with flowers, which he accepts. But when another member tries to shake his hand, the cricketer cheekily replies:

"Sir, do hi haath hain." (Sir, I have only two hands.)

Kohli then poses for some pictures and walks off by saying thank you. Keeper-batter Pant is then seen accepting a bouquet from one of the staff members. The southpaw made a comeback to Test cricket in the Chennai match and made a huge impact, scoring 39 and 109 runs.
