"Someone who brings joy and motivation to everyone" - Cricket fraternity wishes Sanju Samson on his 30th birthday
Team India's keeper-batter Sanju Samson is celebrating his 30th birthday on Monday, November 11. Several members of the cricket fraternity and cricket fans shared birthday wishes for the talented stumper on social media.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla too took to the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) to wish Samson a happy birthday. He wrote:
"Happy Birthday, Sanju Samson ! You’re not just a star on the field, but also someone who brings joy and motivation to everyone around you. Wishing you a spectacular birthday filled with joy, laughter, and all the things that make you happy."
Former Team India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also shared a post on X for Samson's birthday, writing:
"Happy Birthday, Sanju Samson ! Your consistency, skill, and passion for the game have made you a role model for many aspiring cricketers, and your commitment to excellence continues to elevate the Indian cricket team. Wishing you continued success, many more milestones and accomplishments."
Samson's teammates KL Rahul and Yuzvendra Chahal posted Instagram stories on Samson's birthday. Former cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina also wished the wicketkeeper by sharing Instagram stories.
Sanju Samson was born on November 11, 1994, in a Christian family in Pulluvila village of Thiruvananthapuram district in Kerala. He made his T20I debut for Team India in 2015. His first ODI appearance came in July 2021.
Sanju Samson has looked in stunning batting form lately
Sanju Samson has flourished in the role of an opening batter for India's T20I team in recent matches. The right-handed batter shone with the bat in the final fixture of the Men in Blue's three-match home series against Bangladesh last month, scoring 111 runs off just 47 balls.
He followed it up with yet another awe-inspiring century, hitting 107 runs in 50 balls in the T20I series opener of India's ongoing four-match away series against South Africa. With the two centuries, the 30-year-old became the first Indian batter to notch up back-to-back T20I centuries.
Samson failed to continue his wonderful form in the recently concluded second T20I of the aforementioned series against the Proteas on Sunday, November 10. He bagged a three-ball duck in the clash, becoming the first Indian batter to register four T20I ducks in a calendar year.
