“Someone will be looking down with a huge smile” - Sam Curran shares heartfelt post for brother Ben after his selection in Zimbabwe’s ODI squad
England cricketer Sam Curran, the youngest of the Curran brothers (Tom, Ben, and Sam), shared a heartfelt message, congratulating his older sibling Ben on receiving his maiden national call-up to represent Zimbabwe in the ODI series against Afghanistan.
The English all-rounder took to X to share a message, writing, “Someone will be looking down with a huge smile,” likely referring to their father, Kevin Curran, who also represented Zimbabwe. Kevin played 11 ODIs for Zimbabwe and later served as the national team’s head coach from 2005 to 2007. He tragically died in 2012 after collapsing while jogging.
“Such special news, couldn’t be happier for you BC..Someone will be looking down with a huge smile on their face today,” Sam wrote.
Ben played for Northamptonshire until 2022, before transitioning to play cricket in Zimbabwe, where he spent much of his childhood.
Sam has represented England in 117 matches across all formats, scoring 1,768 runs and taking 134 wickets. Meanwhile, the eldest brother, Tom Curran, has played 60 matches across all formats, amassing 433 runs and taking 65 wickets.
