"Sometimes it's Highway, Sometimes it's Green pitch - Mohammad Rizwan"- Top 10 funny memes after Pakistan's dramatic collapse in 1st Test vs England

Pakistan's batting unit copped criticism from fans after they failed to deliver on Day 4 of the first Test against England on Thursday (October 10) at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. Due to their poor batting effort, the hosts are now in a precarious situation going into Day 5, with only four wickets in hand and still trailing by 115 runs.

England began Day 4 with 492/3 on the scoreboard. Joe Root (262) and Harry Brook (317) took full advantage of the flat surface and a tired Pakistan bowling attack to notch up runs at a brisk pace. As a result, the visitors scored a gigantic total of 823/7 in 150 overs before declaring their innings.

Pakistan then commenced their second innings with a deficit of 267 runs before tea break on Day 4. Under pressure, the hosts' top and middle order collapsed like a pack of cards. Stalwarts Babar Azam (5) and Mohammad Rizwan (10) failed to step up for their team in a dire situation as the hosts slumped to 82/6 in 24.2 overs. Agha Salman (41*) and Aamer Jamal (27*) then put on a 70-run partnership and took the hosts to 152/6 before stumps.

Fans were disappointed with Pakistan batters for their poor performance in the second innings of the Multan Test against England. They expressed their reactions by sharing hilarious memes on social media platforms.

"We've managed to do well with the ball and the bat"- Joe Root after Day 4 of 1st England vs Pakistan 2024 Test

Speaking after stumps on Day 4, England batter Joe Root reflected on the day's play, saying:

"Great position in the game for us, the way Harry has played, played quickly once he got to his double hundred, incredible. With the heat that is in, we've managed to do well with the ball and the bat. Before you come out here, previous experiences has helped and as a pack we've done well."
"Scored at good rate again just like last time we toured here. Still a lot of hard work here, we've got a real opportunity to turn things around tomorrow. Such a brilliant player Brook is, got so many shots in the book and the record here in Pakistan is phenomenal."
