SRH Retention List IPL 2025: Full list of players retained by SunRisers Hyderabad, Price tags in INR and Purse remaining
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have chosen to spend a huge chunk of their purse money to keep a hold of their core ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega-auctions. The 2024 edition finalists have retained as many as five player, which includes three overseas candidates.
Leading the line in SRH's retention list is one of the most explosive and reliable batters in T20 cricket, Heinrich Klaasen. The South African has been retained for an astronomical sum of INR 23 crore, making him one of the most expensive retentions in the cycle.
Skipper Pat Cummins has had to take a pay cut as he is retained for a sum of INR 18 crore, a slight drop from the INR 20.5 crore salary he earned the previous season.
The explosive opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head are retained for a sum of INR 14 crore each. The explosive left-handed batting duo had laid down the template with their ultra-aggressive batting, and had played a huge role in the team's advance to the finals of the previous edition.
All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy also extends his stay with the franchise after a blockbuster 2024 campaign. The youngster, who was crowned as the emerging player of the year, did not come into the uncapped category as he recently played the T20I series against Bangladesh. As a result, SRH could not retain him for INR 4 crore as per the slab.

SRH purse for IPL 2025 Auction
The 2016 champions have used up their entire quota dedicated to retentions. Since they have retained five capped players, a total of 75 crore has been deducted from their overall salary cap of INR 120 crore. As a result, SRH head into the mega auction with a purse amount of 45 crore, which is the second-lowest on par with the Mumbai Indians (MI)
