Super50 Cup 2023 top run-getters and wicket-takers after Barbados Pride vs West Indies Academy match ft. Sherfane Rutherford and Romario Shepherd

The 10th match of the Super50 Cup 2023 saw the Leeward Islands lock horns against the Guyana Harpy Eagles at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. In the 11th game, Barbados Pride faced West Indies Academy at Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in St. Augustine.

The Leeward Islands batted first and posted 244 in their 50 overs, with Karima Gore and Jahmar Hamilton top-scoring with 54 each. In reply, the Guyana Harpy Eagles got off to a shaky start but Sherfane Rutherford smashed a brilliant unbeaten ton to help his side ace the chase in the 48th over.

In the 11th match, West Indies Academy were asked to bat first. The Barbados Pride’s bowlers bowled brilliantly and reduced the Academy to 141/6 in 38.1 overs before the rain arrived and washed out the entire game. As a result, both sides had to share points and the Pride will be disappointed as they were robbed of the advantage.


Super50 Cup 2023 Most Runs List

Kjorn Ottley is the leading run-scorer in the Super50 Cup 2023. The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force opener has amassed 202 runs in three outings at a sensational average of 101. He has hit one fifty and a hundred in the competition so far.

Alick Athanaze of Windward Islands sits in second position on the list. The youngster has scored 179 runs in three outings so far at an average of 59.67. He is a vital cog in the Windward’s batting lineup.

Sherfane Rutherford of Guyana Harpy Eagles has jumped to the fourth spot on the most runs list in the Super50 Cup 2023. The left-handed batter smashed a brilliant unbeaten 105 off 71 balls to help his side chase down 245 against Leeward Islands. His knock comprised seven boundaries and eight sixes. He now has taken his runs tally to 157 and sits alongside Darren Bravo, who also has 157 runs to his name.

Daniel Doram of Leeward Islands has picked up 10 wickets in three games in the Super50 Cup 2023, making him the leading wicket-taker in the competition. He averages 7.30 with the ball and has an economy rate of 3.20. Doram went wicketless in their loss against the Guyana Harpy Eagles.

Yannic Cariah of Trinidad and Tobago Red Force sits just below Doram on the most wickets list. The wrist spinner has grabbed nine wickets in two innings at an impressive average of 10.11.

Guyana Harpy Eagles’ Romario Shepherd was good with the ball in their win over the Leeward Islands. He picked up two wickets for 45 runs to help his side restrict the Islands to 244/6. Shepherd has now taken his wickets tally to seven in three outings and follows Cariah on the list.
