"Suryakumar Yadav is utterly insane" - Fans react to MI star's 83 vs RCB in six-wicket win
Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav played a scintillating knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, May 9.
Suryakumar Yadav scored 83 runs from just 35 balls, hammering seven boundaries and six massive sixes, at a staggering strike rate of 237.14. SKY was promoted to bat at No.3 while MI were chasing 200 on a flat track at the Wankhede. He came in to bat following the dismissal of the rampant Ishan Kishan (42 off 21 balls).
The MI batter was more watchful from the other end while allowing his partner Nehal Wadhera to do the maximum damage. SKY relied more on finding the gaps against slower ones of Vyshak Vijaykumar and Harshal Patel.
He soon accelerated after smashing Wanindu Hasaranga for a six over deep mid wicket. Suryakumar Yadav didn't even spare RCB fast bowler Mohammed Siraj as he hammered a four and a six in the 14th over to complete his 19th IPL fifty.
Hasaranga was smashed for a couple of more sixes in the next over by the star MI batter. SKY hit Vyshak for two sixes and a four before he holed out to Kedar Jadhav at deep backward square leg. However, Suryakumar had done plenty to give MI the finishing touches and the home side chased the mammoth score with 3.3 overs to spare.

Suryakumar Yadav completes 3000 IPL runs
In the course of his spectacular innings, Suryakumar Yadav went past 3000 runs in the IPL. The moment he hit Wanindu Hasaranga for a six on the third ball of the 15th over, Suryakumar became the 22nd player overall in the IPL to reach the landmark.
The MI batter has amassed 3020 runs in 119 IPL innings at an average of 30.51 and a strike rate of 141.45. With 2412 runs in 78 innings, Suryakumar is the fourth-highest run-getter for Mumbai Indians behind Ambati Rayudu (2416), Kieron Pollard (3412), and Rohit Sharma (4900).
