"T20 bol kar 5th day Test pitch pr batting karwa diye"- Top 10 funny memes as India storm into finals of 2024 T20 World Cup by beating EnglandĀ
Team India stormed into the finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup with a thumping 68-run win over England in the second semi-final at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. It was the perfect payback for India after a 10-wicket loss against the same opposition in the semis during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Adelaide.
English captain Jos Buttler won the toss and invited the Men in Blue to bat first in the contest. Rohit Sharma (57) and Suryakumar Yadav (47) played brilliant knocks to help India reach a decent total of 171/7 in 20 overs on a tricky surface. Chris Jordan scalped three wickets, while the spinners bowled economically for the English side.
Jos Buttler (23) then played a cameo to give England a brisk start in the powerplay. Left-arm spinner Axar Patel dismissed him in the fourth over to give India a massive breakthrough. The English batting line-up collapsed like a pack of cards after that as they struggled miserably on the sluggish pitch against quality Indian bowlers. Axar Patel (3/23), Kuldeep Yadav (3/19), and Jasprit Bumrah (2/12) combined to skittle out England for 103 in 16.4 overs.
Fans on social media enjoyed the one-sided second semi-final of the T20 World Cup. They expressed their reactions by sharing hilarious memes on X and Instagram.

"India certainly outplayed us"- England captain Jos Buttler after loss in the semi-final of 2024 T20 World Cup
At the post-match presentation, England skipper Jos Buttler reflected on the loss, saying:
"India certainly outplayed us, may be let them get 20-25 runs too many, it was a challenging surface, they played well and they outplayed us, fully deserved the win. Two years on, different conditions, credit to then, they played a very good cricket and deserved the win as I said. Obviously with the rain around, probably didn't think it would change much and don't think it really did."
Buttler continued:
"In hindsight, should've bowled Moeen in that innings, with the way that the spin was playing, they had an above par score with that kind of bowling was always going to be tough. With everything that's happened throughout the tournament, proud of the everyone's efforts to be here."
India will square off against South Africa in the summit clash of the 2024 T20 World Cup on Saturday (June 29) at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
