"Take a photo with Virat Kohli and put it on Instagram" - New Zealand women's cricketer opens up about her dream

New Zealand women's cricketer Xara Jetly recently opened up about her dream of taking a selfie with former Indian skipper Virat Kohli. The talismanic batter is one of the global sports icons and is idolized by many fans and cricketers alike.

Jetly recently appeared on the Fine Legs — The Cricket Podcast. During a candid chat, she spoke about her dream of clicking an image with Kohli and sharing the picture on social media platform Instagram.

“Yeah, this is really basic for me. I’d bowl to…the women’s game is tougher, but in the men’s game, I wanna bowl to Virat Kohli. If I could take a photo with Virat Kohli and put it on Instagram, that would be the GOAL," Jetly said via News18.

Xara Jetly, who is yet to make her international debut, was also asked to pick her one man and woman cricketer each whom she would like to bowl to. The Wellington Blaze cricketer was quick to pick Virat Kohli as the men's cricketer but struggled to pick any favorite women's cricketer.

Jetly has played 45 List A matches and has picked up 54 wickets, while she has scalped 38 wickets in 44 T20 games, with the best figure of 4/1.

Virat Kohli to be next seen in action during the Test series against Bangladesh

With the grueling season that lies ahead for Team India, the management has decided to manage the workload of senior cricketers, including Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah. As a result, they have been rested from the Duleep Trophy, which will mark the beginning of the 2024 domestic season.

Rohit and Kohli last featured in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which the Men in Blue lost 0-2 - their first against the Island nation since 1997.

The duo will return to action during the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which is scheduled to commence on September 19 in Chennai.
