“Thank you for choosing me” - Sagarika Ghatge shares heartfelt anniversary message for Zaheer Khan
Sagarika Ghatge took to social media on Saturday, November 23, to wish her husband and former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan on their seventh wedding anniversary. Sagarika is a Bollywood actress and model, known for her role in the movie ‘Chak De! India.’
The couple got married in 2017, and to celebrate their seven years together, Sagarika took to Instagram to share photos with Zaheer, accompanied by a heartfelt message. She captioned the post:
“To my husband, my rock- through the highs and lows, you’re the one who makes it all worth it. I’d choose this life with you over and over again. Thank you for choosing me. Happy anniversary!”
Zaheer made his debut for India in an ODI against Kenya in 2000, with his final appearance in the format coming in 2012. Over the course of his career, the 46-year-old played 200 ODIs, taking 282 wickets. He was instrumental in India’s 2011 World Cup victory, finishing as the joint-highest wicket-taker of the tournament alongside Shahid Afridi, with 21 wickets.
Zaheer also played in 92 Tests, taking 311 wickets, including 11 five-wicket hauls. In addition, he represented India in 17 T20Is, claiming as many wickets. The left-arm pacer retired from international cricket in 2015.
Zaheer Khan to be the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025
In August, IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) announced Zaheer Khan as their mentor for the 2025 edition.
The 46-year-old was previously associated with Mumbai Indians from 2018 to 2022, where he served as the director of cricket before becoming the head of global development. Now, the former pacer will work with the LSG team.
Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 mega-auction is scheduled for November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. LSG has opted to release their captain KL Rahul and has retained five players: Nicholas Pooran (₹21 crore), Ravi Bishnoi (₹11 crore), Mayank Yadav (₹11 crore), Mohsin Khan (₹4 crore), and Ayush Badoni (₹4 crore).
