“Thank you so much sir” – Mohammed Siraj reacts as Telangana CM Revanth Reddy felicitates him for 2024 T20 World Cup win
Mohammed Siraj has expressed his gratitude to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for felicitating him for being part of Team India’s 2024 T20 World Cup win on Tuesday, July 9. That came as the CM wished Siraj good luck for his future while congratulating him for winning the ICC trophy with the Men in Blue.
Reddy also shared a heartfelt post with Siraj along with a bouquet. In return, Siraj presented him with a Team India jersey and bouquet. The felicitation came days after Siraj was celebrated in a road show in Hyderabad. CM Reddy wrote on X (translated version):
“Today... Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj Met politely. Team India T20 World Cup For achieving Siraj was congratulated. In the future… Siraj wants to climb more heights... Indian cricket team I wish to have a good reputation.”
Siraj quoted the post, writing:
“Thank you so much sir for honouring me and for the appreciation. Im delighted to meet you and looking forward to do everything in my capacity to bring laurels to the country and our Telangana state.”
On the professional front, Siraj bagged two wickets in four group-stage matches at the 2024 T20 World Cup. The speedster has been rested for the ongoing India tour of Zimbabwe along with majority of the senior players.

Mohammed Siraj credited his senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah for winning the 2024 T20 World Cup. He said: (via Hindustan Times):
"My only belief was on Jassy bhai. He's the only game-changer. Whatever I thought exactly happened.
"Unbelievable feeling guys. I can't explain. Last World Cup, I lost the final. Every professional cricketer wants to win the World Cup final. I'm grateful I'm here and thankful,” he added.
Siraj is likely to next feature in the upcoming India tour of Sri Lanka in July & August, where the Men in Blue will play three T20Is and as many ODIs. Notably, Siraj’s 6-fer and 3-fer saw Sri Lanka bundled out for 50 and 55 at the 2023 Asia Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup, respectively.
