The Hundred Men’s 2024 Points Table: Updated Standings after Northern Superchargers vs Birmingham Phoenix, Match 19

Oval Invincibles beat Manchester Originals by three runs in the first match of the day in the Hundred Men’s 2024. With the win, the Invincibles held on to their second spot in the table with eight points and a net run rate of +0.705 thanks to wins in four out of five matches. The Originals, on the other hand, stayed at the bottom of the table with losses in all five of their matches.

In the second match of the day, Birmingham Phoenix defeated Northern Superchargers by 10 wickets at the Edgbaston. The win lifted the Phoenix to third in the table with six points and a net run rate of +0.193 courtesy of three wins in five games. The Superchargers are fourth in the table. Southern Brave stayed at the top of the table with wins in four out of five matches.


Tim Southee guides Birmingham Phoenix

The Phoenix did not have to break a sweat as they eased past the Superchargers with ease. After opting to bat first, the Superchargers were bowled out for 83 in 96 balls. Four of their batters, Nicholas Pooran, skipper Harry Brook, Adam Hose, and Oliver Robinson got into double digits, but none of them carried on.

Ben Stokes returned to playing in The Hundred after 2021, but he bagged a golden duck as Tim Southee accounted for his wicket. Southee was the pick of the bowlers for the Phoenix after he finished with impressive figures of 20-8-15-3. Adam Milne also got three scalps.

The Phoenix chased down the target with 61 balls left in their innings. Ben Duckett and Moeen Ali did not give the Superchargers any chance to make a comeback. Duckett stayed not out on 43 runs off 20 balls, laced with eight fours and a six. Moeen also played his shots to score an unbeaten 37.
