The Hundred Men’s 2024 Points Table: Updated Standings after Oval Invincibles vs Welsh Fire, Match 6

Oval Invincibles, on Sunday, July 28, beat Welsh Fire by 10 runs in Match No.6 of the Hundred Men at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. With the win, they moved to the top of the table with four points and a net run rate of +1.295 thanks to wins in both their matches until now. Welsh Fire, on the other hand, slipped to third with two points and a net run rate of +1.706.

Manchester Originals kept languishing at the bottom of the table with a net run rate of -3.332 courtesy of losses in all three of their matches. Along with the Originals, the London Spirit and Northern Superchargers are also yet to open their account in the tournament. Trent Rockets and Southern Brave are yet to lose a match in the tournament.


Adam Zampa stars in Oval Invincibles’ win

After being asked to bat first, the Invincibles huffed and puffed their way to scoring 113 for the loss of nine wickets. Wiil Jacks played a few big shots, making 25 runs off 15 balls. Donovan Ferreira injected momentum into the innings with a handy 30-run knock.

Jake Ball was the pick of the bowlers for Fire after he picked up three wickets. David Willey and David Payne accounted for two scalps apiece. Joshua Little and Mason Crane were also on top of their game.

Welsh Fire faltered big time in their run-chase and were restricted to 103 for eight. Payne threw his bat around to score 28 runs off 15 balls, but his efforts were not enough for the side to go past the finish line.

Australian leg-spin bowler Adam Zampa was on top of his game after he finished with stupendous figures of 20-8-24-3. Sam Curran and Nathan Sowter got two wickets apiece as the Invincibles secured an important win.
