"The same way how fans would have reacted" - Sanjay Manjrekar on Virat Kohli's reaction to Rishabh Pant's dismissal in India vs Bangladesh match

Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar could understand why Virat Kohli was frustrated watching Rishabh Pant's dismissal in the T20 World Cup encounter against Bangladesh on Saturday, June 22. Kohli wasn't amused when Pant played the reverse sweep against Rishad Hossain and was caught at short third man.

Manjrekar opined that it is natural for Kohli to feel that way as the southpaw seemed to be in complete control of his innings until that point. He also said that several Indian fans would have felt the same way about the dismissal.

Here's what Sanjay Manjrekar had to say on Star Sports:

"Virat Kohli reacted the same way how fans would have reacted after looking at Rishabh Pant's dismissal. The man who has so many good shots in the front of the wicket in his repertoire should try and avoid such a shot. Telling a player like Pant to show some patience would not be ideal but maybe Kohli might try to tell him."

It was the second time in the tournament that Rishabh Pant had been dismissed playing a reverse sweep. He was trapped LBW trying to play the same in his previous game against Afghanistan off Rashid Khan's bowling.

Rohit Sharma meanwhile had no complaints about India's approach

Skipper Rohit Sharma was delighted with how the Men in Blue approached their innings. He expects batters to play the aggressive brand of cricket without thinking about milestones.

"All eight batters need to play their role, whatever it is. We saw one guy get 50 and we got 197, in T20 I do not believe we need to get fifties and hundreds, what matters is the pressure you put on the bowlers. All the batters from the word go played like that and that's how we want to play as well," Rohit said after the game in the presentation ceremony.

India will wrap up their Super 8 phase with a high-octane encounter against Australia in St. Lucia on Monday, June 24.
