"Hits you differently" - Rishabh Pant poses with 2024 T20 World Cup medal
Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared a post on his Instagram handle where he can be seen posing with his 2024 T20 World Cup medal. The Men in Blue secured a thrilling seven-run win over South Africa in the final on Saturday, June 29.
With Virat Kohli opening the batting with Rohit Sharma, Pant was asked to bat at No. 3 in the lineup. The southpaw opened the campaign with impressive knocks of 36 and 42 against Ireland and Pakistan, respectively.
Pant seemed to have lost some steam towards the business end of the tournament. However, he still finished as India's third-highest run-getter in the edition, amassing 171 runs across eight innings.
Sharing what holding the 2024 T20 World Cup medal means to him, Pant wrote:
"This medal 🥇 hits you differently 🇮🇳🇮🇳😇."
Rishabh Pant failed to make a significant impact with the bat in the summit clash against South Africa. He bagged a two-ball duck, getting out caught behind off Keshav Maharaj's bowling.
"Bhai same mere pass bhi hai" - Axar Patel's reaction to Rishabh Pant's social media post
Rishabh Pant's pictures with the 2024 T20 World Cup medal received a big thumbs-up from the fans. The post garnered many likes and comments, one of which was from the keeper's teammate, Axar Patel.
Commenting on Pant's post, Axar joked that he too has the same medal. The all-rounder wrote:
"Bhai same mere pass bhi bhai (Brother, I also have the same one)."
The comment left fans in splits, and at the time of writing, the comment had over 32,000 thousand likes. Meanwhile, Axar was one of India's standout performers at the ICC event.
He did an impressive job with both at and ball, scoring 92 runs from five innings and claiming nine wickets from eight innings. Axar showed tremendous composure in the final, playing a clutch 47-run knock.
